Derek Greene is the full-time pulpit minister to the Church of Christ in Highland Gardens. His ministry began at Highland Gardens in August of 2014. He previously ministered for five years to The Palm Center Church of Christ as Evangelist. He began preaching in 1992 to various congregations that did not have a pulpit minister under the leadership of Robert Harper and the Highland Heights Church of Christ. Derek was a faithful member at Highland Heights COC where he began serving in 1989. He worked in various ministries such as Alpha Group Ministry Leader, Educational Director, New Convert Teacher, Non-Member Bible Class Teacher, and the Visiting Minister to various congregations throughout the brotherhood. He was baptized at Northwood Manor Church of Christ.

 

He has been married to Michelle Greene since 1987, and is the father of two children, Joshua and Chastity Greene and Jaxon Greene, grandson. He is a Retired Educator from the Aldine Independent School District. Derek is a proud graduate of Texas Southern University and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and he belongs to various organizations throughout the city.

 

His interests includes mentoring, fishing, biking, reading, meeting people and sharing the Gospel with them.
